The chairman of PARNAS, Mikhail Kasyanov, was attacked. Party activist Mikhail Konev reported this to OVD-Info. According to him, he himself learned about this from Kasyanov. The attack, says Konev, took place in a restaurant and involved about two dozen people. It is alleged that they spoke Chechen. It is still unknown in which restaurant this happened. Currently, according to Konev, Kasyanov is in the police department and is writing a statement. He apparently did not suffer any serious injuries. Mediazona, according to PARNAS activist Natalya Pelevina, reports that Kasyanov was hit with a cake (Pelevina was not an eyewitness to the attack and refers to the party chairman and his security). Kasyanov himself confirmed the fact of the attack to the publication.
Later, the chairman of PARNAS told Interfax that there were about ten attackers, they threw a cake at him, shouting threats, “after which they fled in cars.” Kasyanov wrote a statement to the Kitay-Gorod police station, the agency reports.
According to PARNAS member Konstantin Merzlikin, cited by Mediazona, “two Caucasians threw a large cake at Kasyanov, and then fled in four cars with 15 more people who were in the hall and on the street.”
On January 31 , a video was published on Instagram by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, in which Kasyanov and his deputy Vladimir Kara-Murza were depicted through the scope of a sniper rifle. The party leadership regarded this post as incitement to murder. In this regard, applications were submitted to the Investigative Committee and the FSB.
