The work used a model of chronic social conflict, which allows you to investigate changes in the brain of mouse males that arise under the influence of the long experience of aggression, accompanied by victories in daily confrontations.
Scientists have established that the rodents have a social behavior and psycho -emotional state, neurological symptoms appear that are preserved for a long time after the cessation of aggressive interactions.
“The growth of new neurons and a change in neuronal activity in the structures of the brain, which was found in joint work with American researchers, reflects the depth of failure in the work of the main mental organ under the influence of re -experience of aggression,” comments Professor Natalia Kudryavtseva, the author of the experimental model and the head of these studies at the Institute of the SB RAS.
