The Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced left-wing activist from Lipetsk Elena Bezrukova to three years of suspended imprisonment, finding her guilty of drug possession. This was reported by Mediazona with reference to Bezrukova’s friend Dmitry Androsov.
Bezrukova was detained in November 2015 in Moscow in an apartment she was renting, along with activist Alexander Ognev, who was there. During a preliminary inspection, the police found “certain substances” in the refrigerator, after which Bezrukova was sent to a temporary detention center and then under house arrest.
Ognev, who organized protest rallies in Lipetsk, was accused of evading military service and sent to a military unit .
