2014. The death of "heavenly hundreds"

Two years ago, on February 18, 2014, there was a sharp aggravation of the situation on Independence Square in Kyiv, which became the center of protest against the policy of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, the opposition demanded an immediate return to the parliamentary and presidential form of the reign and restoration of the 2004 Constitution. The clashes of the protesters with the Berkut police unit began, as a result of which about 80 people died from February 18 to February 18 to 21. Most of them became victims of fire of snipers of government forces. According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in total from November 30, 2013 to April 14, 2014, 106 people died during protest shares in Kyiv and in the regions.
