The chairman of Vnesheconombank Vladimir Dmitriev announced the upcoming departure from his post. According to RBC, a source close to VEB reported about this. Information was confirmed by a source in the government.
VEB press service refused to comment. Dmitriev and press secretary of the president Dmitry Peskov did not comment on the statement. “We will inform you,” he told reporters.
Earlier, the publication reported that as part of the reform of Vnesheconombank, Dmitriev could be replaced by another manager. According to sources, the deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank Sergey Gorkov was considered as one of the candidates.
The interlocutors of RBC noted that in the “Short List” there was also the surname of the Chairman of the Board of Sogaz JSC Sergey Ivanov, the son of the head of the presidential administration Sergei Ivanov. However, Ivanov himself denied this information, passing through the press service that "all this is not true."
Vladimir Dmitriev came to Vnesheconombank of the USSR in 1997 as the first deputy chairman and in 2004 headed the organization. According to the source, the resignation of Dmitriev is due to the fact that he "simply performed what they would tell him, and at the same time did not inform about the risks," with which these or another government decisions and financial transactions carried out through VEB may be associated.
