A referendum on leaving the EU has been called in the UK
British Prime Minister David Cameron announced that a referendum on leaving the European Union is scheduled for June 23, 2016.
A vote will be put on whether the UK should stay in the EU or leave it. The government recommends voting for the UK to remain a member of the European Union.
On the evening of February 20, David Cameron said that at the talks in Brussels, the leaders of European countries agreed on a special status for Great Britain in the EU. First of all, special conditions relate to migration policy: the UK will be able to limit the program of social support for migrants.
The referendum on leaving the EU was one of the key points in the election program of the British Conservatives led by Cameron. Initially, the vote was supposed to take place in 2017.
