A bust of Joseph Stalin was installed in the village of Kholmatka, Ostrovsky district of the Pskov region. According to Interfax, the director of the military-historical museum-reserve Peter Grinchuk announced this.

According to him, the bust was established as part of the celebration of the defender of the Fatherland with the help of the full financial support of the Russian Military Historical Society and its Pskov branch.

Grinchuk noted that the bust was installed at the very beginning of the so -called defensive "Stalin Line". According to the director of the museum, the solemn opening of the entire military-patriotic complex, which includes hangars, a bunker with exhibitions, a monument to a warrior-liberator with a military burial and a bust of Stalin, will be held in May.

In September 2015, the Penza branch of the Communist Party suffered a bust of Joseph Stalin from the old building of the regional party committee to a new, located in the city center. The Communists did not coordinate the location of the monument, but did not violate the rules, noted in the city administration.

After reports on the imminent transfer of the monument to the city center on the Change.org website, a petition was published against the initiative of the Communists. "The archive of the regional department of the FSB of the Russian Federation stores more than 26,000 Penza, recognized as victims of political repression. The monument to Stalin in Penza is not only an insult to their memory, but also the actual justification of the totalitarian regime," the authors said.

The Yabloko party reported that she sent an appeal to the prosecutor’s office with a demand to stop the inaction of the supervisory authority in Penza and “pursue the unauthorized installation of the monument to Stalin by law”.
