A fan was fined for attending a match with a “Crimea is ours” poster

In Ulyanovsk, a visitor to the Bandy World Championship was fined for a poster with the words "Crimea is ours." According to Kommersant, the offender was the chairman of the regional Bulgarian national cultural autonomy, Khamza Yambaev, who brought this poster to the Ukraine-Somalia match. The Zasviyazhsky District Court of Ulyanovsk issued a decision on a fine of three thousand rubles under the article on violation of the rules of conduct for spectators during competitions (Article 20.31 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

The match took place on February 11. Yambaev was detained at the very beginning of the match by employees of the Center for Combating Extremism, who said that the inscription on the poster "is of an extremist nature." This was reflected in the protocol. Yambaev spent seven hours at the police station, but he was not given a copy of the protocol, the newspaper writes.

The court did not agree with the statement about the extremist nature of the poster, but recognized its “political nature”. The court decision stated that “the protocol of the police was drawn up properly”, and Yambaev violated the “Rules of conduct for spectators ...” because he held a “public event in the form of picketing” at the match.

Yambaev intends to appeal the court decision, and also sends an application to the district court to hold police officers accountable for his illegal detention and imprisonment within seven hours, the newspaper writes.
