Police confiscated saxophone and passport from street musician

A street musician, saxophonist Rustam Tolbeev has been detained in Moscow. As musician Oleg Mokryakov told OVD-Info, on February 26, Tolbeev was playing in the underground passage near the Park Kultury metro station, when two police officers approached him and, without introducing themselves, said that it was impossible to play in this place, and took away his passport and saxophone. According to Mokryakov, Tolbeev went to the Khamovniki police department to write a statement.

OVD-Info managed to contact Tolbeev himself when he was already at the police station. He said that when the police officers left with his passport and tool, he was frightened, as he had never been in such a situation before. As it turned out, the police later told him that he had been detained and that he should have remained where he was. According to the musician, they are going to draw up a protocol on an administrative offense against him.

During a conversation between the saxophonist and OVD-Info, police officers began to accuse him of lying, after which the connection was interrupted. At the time of this writing, the musician's phone is unavailable. Tolbeev did not have time to tell which police department he was in. In the duty unit of the Khamovniki police department, they said that detainees with such a surname were not delivered to them.
