The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said on the air of NTV that his time has passed this post, TASS reports . However, he could not name the name of his possible successor.
"To be honest, I am doing things, and I did it until today. So that I have not been used by my name against my people, I believe that the leadership of the state needs to find another person. I say - my time has passed. We have a lot of successors in the team, there are very good specialists," Kadyrov said.
At the same time, Kadyrov said that he did not see himself in the future as a federal minister or deputy. “This is not mine, I don’t understand this - to be a minister, a deputy, this is not mine,” the head of Chechnya emphasized.
On February 3, Kadyrov said he forgot about the imminent expiration of his authority. “It turns out that the deadline for the end of my authority is approaching as the head of the Czech Republic. He expires in two months. The journalists reminded me of this,” he wrote on his Instagram.
According to the head of Chechnya, he has not yet decided whether he would run for the next period. “I didn’t think about it. I am sure that, first of all, the candidate should have the choice of the President of Russia. If he says that a person approaches the post of head of the republic, and the people supports him, then he should take part. And the politician eager for power for the sake of power will not achieve anything,” Kadyrov wrote.
On February 23, in an interview with RSN, Kadyrov said that he did not want to remain at the head of the republic. "Does Kadyrov want to continue? I do not want to continue. Now other times from an economic, social point of view. We have more professional people in the team. I think that I have fulfilled my duty. Those people who lead us, check, look, balanced - they know better what is needed for further development, in order not to stop development. There is a team, there is a president of Allah. I say. Then I will serve - if you come on, I say goodbye, ”Kadyrov said then. When asked who he is going to fight with, the head of Chechnya replied: "With the enemies of Russia."
The next day, the presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the premature discussion of the fate of Kadyrov as the head of Chechnya. "This is premature, there is a deadline there. After this period, decisions will be made by the president. We will never announce such decisions, we will not do this this time," Peskov said.
