The President of AvtoVAZ Bu Andersson may resign, the Vedomosti newspaper reports. As three people close to the car factory told the publication, the owner of the AvtoVAZ blocking package - the Rostec State Corporation - is looking for a replacement for Anderson.

Andersson wants to change not only Rostec, but also Renault-Nissan, which owns the control package of the plant’s shares, says one of the interlocutors of Vedomosti. According to another newspaper’s interlocutor, the alliance is dissatisfied with Anderson’s work due to the poor financial results of the plant.

The nearest Board of Directors of AvtoVAZ should take place in March, but the date and agenda of the meeting have not yet been approved.

At the same time, the chairman of the board of directors of TopContact, Arthur Shamilov, noted that the fact of searching the candidate for replacement does not mean the early resignation of the current president of AvtoVAZ, since the search for a top manager of this level takes six to nine months.

Representatives of Rostec and AvtoVAZ refused to comment.

Rostec General Director Sergei Chemezov criticized Andersson for his state optimization in the fall of 2015, saying that the people were simply "expelled into the street." In 2014, the number within the framework of the company’s anti -crisis plan decreased by almost 20%, in 2015 - by another 15%, to 44,500 people. But then Chemezov said that "the question of the change of CEO of AvtoVAZ is not yet worth it.

The former head of the GAZ Group, Swede Bu Andersson, stood at the rut of AvtoVAZ in January 2014. Having headed the GAZ Group in 2009, Andersson conducted the process of updating the model range, concluded a number of partnerships with foreign automakers and significantly reduced jobs in the first year, RIA Novosti notes. At the same time, under his leadership, the company reached "the best financial results in history," the company noted.

At the end of January, Bu Andersson, as part of the requirements of the company's ethics code, fired the director of the corporate development of the enterprise Katerina Matushkova. At the same time, according to the press, Matushkova is Andersson's wife.

This year, AvtoVAZ plans to sell approximately 260 thousand cars.
