Today is Tuesday - the day of protection. In his new column, Vladislav Moiseev talks about non -existent private property and how we remained only users of our own country, but not its owners.
Surely many remember the sad story of Marvin Khimyer from Granby, Colorado. The engineer and owner of a small car repair shop for many years fought with a cement plant, which blocked oxygen to his business. After all possible instances refused to help Khimyer and his workshop was destroyed, he sheathed with the armor of the bulldozer and destroyed thirteen buildings. There, according to Khimyer, people involved in the destruction of his affairs lived and worked. After that, he committed suicide, there were no more victims.
Himeyer became a real legend, many call him a hero, although there are enough arguments in favor of the fact that he was simply brought to despair by a psycho who was lucky not to kill anyone during his vendetta. The research position does not imply any sentences and ethical assessments. In the history of Khimyer, it is interesting, first of all, on what ground the conflict erupted. And here everything is more or less clear-this is the problem of private property and personal responsibility for what belongs to you.
The philosopher Vitaliy Kurenna, analyzing the Russian cemetery culture, suggested that the motley and in some places the wild aesthetics of modern tombstones with endless cars, tourist tents, motorcycles and football balls are a sign of a private person’s birth with his private interests. This is an interesting thesis, and it is quite symbolic that the signs of the emergence of such an individual are well detected precisely after his death.
Because during life it is problematic to talk about something private in Russia. In practice, it turns out that between the stall, oil company, media holding or airport, there is no such big difference. From the point of view of those who want to destroy or appropriate these objects, they are all “typical self -building”, and “hiding behind a piece of paper about property” is pointless. So we can say about any business in Russia. And if you take a step towards free generalizations, then a person is so self -building in itself, he has been doing a small business to promote himself all his life. Things are also not very good with such self -construction, and their bulldozer is quickly located on them.

Andrei Zvyagintsev said that he was inspired by the history of Khimyer to create Leviathan. Only now everything ends there without a huge bulldozer and shooting. Many blamed that the director deprives the viewer of hope of awakening in a small Russian person of a proud and selfless avenger. But this is the beautiful Leviathan. He tells an absolutely true story that we have no tradition of owning, managing, responsibility for private property. We just have been users of our country for too long. But this is not the same as the owners. And it is not only about the last thirty years.
When a bulldozer arrives and destroys the layk, no matter how much Ugri he may seem, a very simple statement is declared: you are just users here. It’s how to have a profile on Facebook, but not to have Facebook itself. And even if by some miracle you got Facebook, this does not mean that you really have it. Because at any moment an interesting person may arise who will present the right of ownership. And no matter how the usability changes (bicycle paths, craft in the world and even Petank), the logic remains the same.
From the point of view of post-apocalypse, this is a completely natural state of the world, when private property becomes conventionality, randomly moving through the islands of not burnt soil people fight for resources and possessing at least some signs of a gone civilization-old magazines, losers from gum, rusty bicycles.
Recently, I began to understand the Vikings and other archaic figures of history who took the concubines, transport, gold and everything that they could make. I am sure that Russian funeral culture is about to encounter such a trend, because only in the grave a person can calmly feel like private.
