In Simferopol, they were not allowed to hold a rally dedicated to the Ukrainian poet and writer Taras Shevchenko on March 9. This was reported by "Crimea. Realii” representative of the Ukrainian Cultural Center Alyona Popova.
“We were not refused, but we were informed that during the emergency situation in Crimea, there is no such opportunity to hold such an event,” she said.
“I can also add that those events that were planned, as explained to us in the city administration, they will still be held. That is, it concerns the planned activities, they have the right and the opportunity to continue their work. We fall under the category of unplanned events for the year,” Popova explained.
