Moscow Bard Sergey Sirotkin is the best young performer of 2015 according to JagerMeister Indie Awards and the beloved singer of designer Goshi Rubchinsky (his songs sound at Goshi shows). Colta.ru represents the second mini-album of Sirotkin “Marble”, which will be presented on March 15 with a solo concert in “16 tons”.
“Marble” could become a full-format album, I worked on a few more songs for him, but as a result I abandoned this idea in favor of a mini-album. I decided to leave only the most filled and necessary tracks, they sound harmoniously together and more precisely convey the feeling of the time in which the “marble” appeared: misunderstanding, rejection, fatigue, hope, and then loss of hope.
With the sound, I did nothing intentionally, there was no certain concept and direct landmarks in my head. These are just songs written at home with acoustic guitar. In the process of work, they intuitively surrounded new layers and details, but the main goal was not to lose the original meaning in pursuit of someone else's sound.
Marble as a concept causes me different associations: from childhood, he surrounded me in the Moscow metro, on pedestals, monuments, fountains and majestic Soviet buildings. Now, unfortunately, I notice it in the tombstones in cemeteries, and in tasteless accessories in offices and houses. So for me marble is rather just a material with a beautiful texture and a harmonious name.
