Crimean farmers tried to prevent the picket

On March 7, in Simferopol near Lenin Square, representatives of the local administration tried to ban the picket of Crimean farmers opposing quarantine measures related to the epidemic of the African swine plate.

According to the organizer of Ilya Bolshedvorov, representatives of the municipality demanded to refuse to hold a picket on the central square and transfer it to one of the remote places approved by local authorities. For their part, the organizers said that they notified the administration in advance and properly, but did not receive official refusal to agree on the right time. Therefore, they refused to transfer the picket to another place and expressed their readiness to bear administrative responsibility if their fault was proved.

However, ten minutes later the police nevertheless opened the passage to the square and missed everyone there. During the picket, Bolshedvorov said that the police reported to co -organizers and participants in the action the day before the event that the picket would not be agreed, and threatened to be held accountable. In addition, according to him, some people called unknown people and said that the picket was canceled.

On March 2, activists of the Ukrainian Cultural Center were not allowed to hold a rally dedicated to Taras Shevchenko, referring to the emergency regime and a ban on mass events. The applicant of the rally Leonid Kuzmin was awarded a warning about the inadmissibility of extremist activity.
