At the forefront

Dear editors !

I want to congratulate our beautiful women on the holiday of March 8! Not only those who work in science, but also those who are wives and friends of men working in science, who generally meet us on the streets of our native and other cities. All these ladies I want to wish happiness, love, health, joy and, of course, a good mood!

Another bore will say that not all women are beautiful, and not only working in science, but also those that are found on the streets. On the one hand, it seems difficult to object: women are different both in age and in appearance. On the other hand, it is clear that people who express this point of view, the wrong perception of life: cynicism, despondency and pessimism - this is what is characteristic of them. They look at everything in black glasses: women are not beautiful for them, there is little money for them, they are unhappy with the decision of the authorities and all the time they flame fiercely in kitchens and smokers.

In general, their behavior does not look like the behavior of a rational, calm and adequate person, focused on creative work. Such a person in everything is looking for positive aspects and new opportunities and at least not lose heart. We all understand that there are folk remedies that allow you to look at any problem correctly: as they say, there are no ugly women, there are few vodka. What can I say, in the right condition, even skeptics of the decision of the authorities, including the reform of the Academy and the innovation of Fano, begin to seem wise and deep! And the holiday, my dear colleagues, is the time when it is necessary to look at objects exclusively in the correct condition and on the right side. So, looking at everything in the right condition, I realized what our science is so acutely lacking: not money or reasonable bosses, no, there are very few women in science! And if there is a Gordian node for which you can draw out our science that has bogged down in the swept, then it is tied here: to solve all problems, it is necessary to increase the share of women among scientific and other employees of our institutions, bringing it to the average throughout the population. And, colleagues, it is not at all necessary that all new employees be Sophia Kovalevsky or Maria Curie: there is just the case when it is necessary to take it not with skill, but by number. The abundance of women will create in science a balanced, working, stimulating creativity atmosphere - that’s the main thing!

Another approach will be called stupidity, but look, colleagues, what science is developing better and more active now: traditionally strong physics - or biology, where the proportion of women is much higher? That's the same! It is simple to solve the set problem: the most important indicator and the success of the work of scientific organizations should be the proportion of women among working scientific and other employees. What is the point in such an indicator as the number of publications? Straightly strain, it is easy to wind it up and simply: any fool can write two instead of one worthless article. And the indicator I offer will be easily checked and not amenable to wrapping! And it is necessary to give the status of leading organizations or grants of scientific funds to those institutions and groups where the share of women is higher.

Moreover, it is not only necessary to saturate scientific organizations with women, no, it is necessary to put women at the head of science. Understand, dear colleagues, I am right: I have nothing against the current scientific superiors: Dmitry Viktorovich is a magnificent reformer with a broadest vision of the direction of the process, Mikhail Mikhailovich is an excellent financier, he knows all the financial shallows and snags, finally, Andrei Aleksandrovich is just a genius and a guru. But still, as men, they do not cause in other men those emotions that would be needed and useful for the development of science.

It is necessary to put at the head of the Ministry of Education and Science and Fano, as well as my native and St. Petersburg universities of lovely and all understanding aunts. Aunts who could cry in a vest of venerable academics and laureates. Cry and leave encouraged, enthusiastically in the heart, without receiving any less important resources like money and equipment. Our Russian, Soviet, Russian women can not only stop the horse on a horse and enter the burning hut, but also turn our dilapidated and collapsing scientific hut into a radiant temple of Russian science. Therefore, it is time to put a woman in science at the forefront!
