Russian propaganda - which we have known it since the beginning of March 2014 - two years. We often say that the new time in Russia did not give rise to anything phenomenal, which would affect the whole world. This is not true. It was propaganda that became the “new”, which we enriched the world over these two years. We gave the world Propaganda - 30 years after they presented Pirestro IKA . Those who regretted the second word, of course, can be proud of themselves.
Meanwhile, from a practical point of view, the results of propaganda are none. What did she achieve-besides the fact that she lifted the listener and scared the world? .. starting with the referendum on the independence of Scotland (2014) and ending with a wall on the border that migrants knocked down, for two years in a row, propaganda predicts "collapse" collapses "to everything. However, even Greece resisted (the "collapse of the European Union"-there was such a top-theme of last year). The way they are talking about England, which can leave the European Union, are, of course, toys compared to the journalistic cycles of the “collapse of Europe” and “The collapse of America”. However, the most honest of the commentators then warned: “In the near future, talking about the collapse of America is premature” (now the presenters are forced to restrain themselves about America - this was also more than once, the installation has temporarily changed).
Looking from the height of the two years, we see that not one of the gloomy prophecies has come true.
“The flow of refugees swept Europe”-the case of migrants can be recognized as the only relatively successful, since it has at least some attitude to reality; Everything is really complicated there, but there is far from collapse.
Ukraine, with which it all started, is today on the periphery of interest. Recently, a parliamentary crisis happened there, and propaganda was happy to describe it in colors - and fell into an insidious trap. The fact is that the parliamentary crisis in Ukraine is already twenty years of folk entertainment, the Sorochinsky fair. There were already ten or twenty such crises, for Ukraine it is rather a symbol of stability than the Apocalypse. The Kremlin (and after it is propaganda) allows the same strategic miscalculation as in the Soviet years: experts come from the wrong picture of the world. Like Soviet, current propagandists it seems that any crisis in the West is evidence of the collapse of the entire system. Meanwhile, a crisis is just a test of vitality, something like educational anxiety-if you use a language more understandable in Russia.
At first, propaganda was perceived as practice, then as ideology, then as psychology; Finally, two years later, propaganda turned into such a metaphysical thing, became a thing in itself.
However, in any case, it is impossible to tell about the political crisis in Ukraine using Hate Speech ; It has to be described only in the political language - parliament, coalition, fraction. A dozen parties, the president in Klinch with the prime minister, the one with the ministers, and those with the regions; In general, an endless series. Submitting us into these details and details, the language of propaganda himself is forced to become more complicated, to switch to the “enemy language”. This trap was the first to notice the insightful Sergey Markov, who wrote on his Facebook: “I am tired of constantly watching the Russian TV channels in essence propaganda, representing the crisis of Yatsenyuk’s resignation as a political crisis of the European type, where the factions are struggled, the coalition, the struggle for every deputy voice. This is the propaganda of the Ukrainian post-Maidan system ... ”But it was too late: propaganda was so deepened into the endless ranks” Yatsenyuk-Poroshenko-Timoshenko-Zavali-Odlnil-Plazhel-Coalition-Fraction ”that this changed the structure of the“ conversation about Ukraine ”. Propaganda is sure that it describes the “mess” (after all, the policy in the representation of propaganda is a mess), but it turned out that it describes a drama, suspiciously reminiscent of the one that goes in other European theaters.
And so it happened over the course of two years with all crises - which would have to be a confirmation of the gloomy prophecies of propaganda. Each time, the crisis turned out to be too complicated-so that it could be used in the dichotomy “your own-fuckers”, “ours-doctors”, “light-thah”, “fairly impeccably”. The world cannot be explained on the fingers, that is, with the help of the language of propaganda. And even the war in Syria was too complicated to be used as the concept of “greatness”. Propaganda sticks all the time, linates in too difficult the composition of the world, the world does not want to be simplified, does not want to get poured to the primitive confrontation of the “two systems”, “good and evil”. The plastic world won, the brick was more complicated, paraphrasing Yegor Letov. And this is the most cruel disappointment of propaganda in two years.
Propaganda is corroded like rust, complexity. Propaganda is good in a situation of total simplicity, as it was with Ukraine-2014; Everything that is more complicated, in more detail, more details, it kills it. The wheels begin to rust. As a result, we are now dealing with the crisis of propaganda itself.
At first, propaganda was perceived as practice, then as ideology, then as psychology; Finally, two years later, propaganda turned into such a metaphysical thing, became a thing in itself. It already exists for itself. Gradually, from the subject it turned into an object - observation, not only psychologists, but also art historians. Ultimately, the most interesting thing was not the content of the work, but the “personality of the artist”, those who do all this. Propagandists are peculiar antiheroes of our time.
These people are victims, but not the collapse of the empire, as they are trying to assure us, but decommunications.
Actually, the leading pro -government radio stations (Vesti FM, RSN, KP, “Says Moscow”) represent the most material for observation here: they are in sight all the time, they have a live broadcast - unlike the TV. 80 percent of the leading monologues for two years have been dedicated to another - West, America, Ukraine, and the European Union. The other, of course, does not hear all this; But propaganda behaves as if they were heard. This is an interesting psychological state: it turns out that propaganda all this time speaks as if with itself. He leads a tense discussion, argues, answers - to himself. Actually, Dostoevsky for “notes from the underground” today would not have to invent anything: he could simply include “recording” in his smartphone on any monologue of the radio host - and publish it almost without abbreviations.
These monologues are still passionate, expressive-in general, this speech cannot be refused to be uniform and even conceptuality (the pictures of the world can vary in details, but it is still clear that they are part of a single discourse of “power”). As a result, we are facing some kind of “world”, according to their remarks, we have the opportunity to recreate, reconstruct their world. All that they scare their listeners is actually a projection of their own fears, phobias and nightmares. All these grandiose, unbearable, inexpressible things that they talk about others are actually a story about themselves.
For specialists in the field of posttotalitarian injury, TV and radio must be of great interest. Here you can not succumb to emotions, you need to be just such an objective psychiatrist. It would be a terrible mistake to believe that these people are some special evil, who came from the foam of the sea, the generation of some special apparatus of evil. There is nothing special in these people, they, in general, under other circumstances would behave differently.
These people are victims, but not the collapse of the empire, as they are trying to assure us, but decommunications. Nobody spoke to them for 20 years, they sat in their metaphysical underground, so their discourse is so dusty. But now they, so to speak, are pronounced on us, on cats, with the help of radio and TV. They wore this unsuitability for twenty years, until it sticks together in the general feeling of “defeat”, “loss”, “betrayal”. They would like to punish the world for their suffering - the whole world; But these are the basics of psychology. If you can extract some lesson from this-it is that totalitarian trauma needs to be pronounced, like any other psychological trauma.
Hello, dear Martin Alekseevich! I dug up the beds, the garden poured, I congratulate you on a holiday, Ukraine is waiting for a collapse! Migrants attack Europe!
But neither the poorly hidden bending of the “at least some war”, nor the irrational hatred of the world are the root cause. And, as we could see for these two years, the propagandists easily switched from one enemy to another. A specific enemy is not important; It is important to have an absolute enemy - the one who is "there is no forgiveness." They simply need the absolute - albeit with a minus sign - which would serve them a support. The behavior of propagandists is based on the desire to simplify the picture of the world. The real world seems too complicated, uncomfortable, it is nervous. They would like to return to a simpler version, that, for example, which was in the 1930s or a century earlier. “Life is simple when you wait for a shot from the other side” - they could well say this phrase about themselves. Returning to understandability and simplicity - this is their goal. Millions of listeners and spectators passionately wish that.
Since this, as it turned out, is impossible, propaganda gradually closes in itself, turning from an ideological instrument into gloomy art, playing beads.
In general, this is all interesting already as a language phenomenon. We have become a common place of reasoning that in Russia the post -Soviet did not appear literature, comparable in scale with former eras. Nonsens: previously unprecedented creative freedom - and an insignificant result. The whole gift went to steam, the energy of the tongue turned into this language plague. The language of propaganda is a something between the language of socialist realism and the absurdity. This is our new literature. The hero Sorokin ’s artificially bred once, every day now sends us a sound and video description of this content: “Hello, dear Martin Alekseevich! I dug up the beds, the garden poured, I congratulate you on a holiday, Ukraine is waiting for a collapse! Migrants attack Europe! Another fence was broken on the border! America will collapse! Europe collapses before our eyes! European women run in fear! US debt threatens the world! Obama! Merkel! The European Union! Our Western partners should think! Baltic states in fear! Tolerance attacks! Hordes of migrants, there is no salvation from migrants, goodbye, Martin Alekseevich, drink milk, hello to Masha, you are all kind. ”
It was once believed that Sorokin’s thing is about the collapse of the language, but it can also be called a kind of “pronouncing injury”. To expel all this Hate Spech , the character must speak out to the end. The current propaganda resembles such a collective pronunciation of injury. Who knows, maybe when they speak out, everything will end? What if what we have been observed and heard for the past two years is actually a grand collapse of speech? It is impossible to stop this, the breakdown should reach some interjections, to points and dash, like Sorokin. Still amazing: everything ended with literature again. One way or another - we are doomed to listen to this to the end.
