MP Reznik declared a divine
The prominent “unicorn” and State Duma deputy Vladislav Reznik, as well as the wife of the prominent “United Russia”, Diana Gindin are put on the international wanted list at the request of Spanish law enforcement agencies. Such a development of events was quite expected. A month and a half ago, the defendants had to appear in court and leave a bail 133 million euros, which would guarantee their stay at large before the end of the investigation. Most of the accused, which include a deputy family (in the case, in addition to the mentioned defendants, 24 more citizens of the Russian Federation are held), this requirement ignored. So the current legend to this criminal case of international status is a logical and only possible outcome. In Moscow, they immediately spoke about the "political background." “The State Duma and the Council of Ministers intend to respond to the search for the Russian deputy with an impeccable reputation of Vladislav Reznik,” said Alexei Alexandrov, deputy chairman of the Council of Constitutional Legislation. And the State Duma deputy Vladimir Pligin assured the journalists that "the Reznik’s announcement on the international wanted list will not affect his deputy status." The lawyer of the accused Alexander Gofstein directly claims (his words gives RBC) that "the decision of the investigative judge of the National Audence of Spain on absentee arrest and the announcement of the international wanted list Vladislav Reznik and his wife Diana Gindin is an expected continuation of the maximum politicized campaign, consistently conducted with the aim of discrediting Russia and its citizens in the international arenas." Meanwhile, the case is already almost eight years old, and in this connection, references to the “political nature of the persecution” look unbearable. Obviously, such a rhetoric is suitable only for internal use. In the West, no one pays attention to this kind of campaign for a long time.
So, what is the Spanish justice accusing the deputy and his wife? And they blame them, not a lot of gangsters. In other words, in involvement in the activities of the so-called “Tambov organized crime group”, the largest criminal group operating in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region and in laundering money in the European Union. In 2008, the Spanish police conducted a special operation in the south of the country, during which several Russian citizens were detained and searches were carried out at their place of residence. Including Syskan was the house of Vladislav Reznik on Mallorca. As follows from the materials of the case, the accusation against Reznik is based on his telephone conversation with the leader of the Tambovs, Gennady Petrov, having familiarized the Spanish law enforcement officers, allegedly, received irrefected evidence of the whole series of Russian citizens. Mr. Reznik himself claims that he was not his voice on the record, but he and Petrov seemed to not talk at all.
It is clear that in the near future the Spanish justice of the Russian deputy with an “impeccable reputation” will not be able to get it. And he himself is unlikely to decide to leave the Fatherland. However, the court in Spain will undoubtedly take place, and all of us will have the opportunity to make sure that the arguments of the prosecution are convincing and the claims are justified.
