During the anti-terrorist operation in Brussels, five people were detained, including Salah Abdesalam, suspected of organizing terrorist attacks in Paris. It is reported by Reuters with reference to the Belgian prosecutor.
One of the detainees is also suspected of involvement in the Paris attacks. Three others are members of the family where Abdesalam was hiding.
Earlier, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel announced the detention of two people in addition to Abdesalam.
The detention of Salah Abdesalam became known on the evening of March 18. During the arrest, he was wounded in the leg and hospitalized in St. Peter's Hospital in Brussels, according to RTBF. French President François Hollande said he was waiting for Abdessalam's extradition "as soon as possible".
