In general, in Russia, over two years, the topic of the Crimea entering the Federation was routine, while the inhabitants of the Crimea still preserve the emotion that arose in connection with the accession of Polostrov to Russia. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Polit.ru Alexei Makarkin, the first vice-president of the Center for Political Technology and the editor-in-chief of Politkom.ru.
“In general, in Russia, the Crimean theme was routine - well, Crimea and Crimea, Russian - and Russian, okay, are used to it. But in the Crimea itself, an emotion was preserved, the feeling that “we were saved from Bandera”, that “we returned to our homeland”, that “we are not forced to fill out some documents in Ukrainian.”
This feeling is, and, by and large, the Crimeans are unimportant by the opportunity to go abroad. People who have lived a deficit in the economy for many years look at the like: there are McDonald's - okay, no - okay. You can go abroad - well, no - too.
And of those people for whom this is important, or of those who did not accept Russia, was against joining, many left. And they were there an obvious minority. Of course, one of them remained-those who would like, but could not leave, for example, representatives of the Crimean Tatar community. Well, they are peasants, they are rooted there and will hold on to this land, ”said Alexei Makarkin.
Recall, on March 18, 2014, the leadership of Crimea and the Russian President signed a document in the Kremlin on the entry of Crimea into the Russian Federation. The United States, the European Union and a number of other countries refused to recognize Crimea by Russian territory.
On March 18, 2016, the Supreme Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that the EU still does not intend to recognize Crimea to become part of Russia. According to Mogherini, the EU "is still firmly committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
“The European Union will continue to adhere to the complete implementation of its non -recognition policy, including through restrictive measures. The EU again calls on the UN member states to consider similar measures for non-recognition, in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly No. 68/262, ”the newspaper Kommersant quotes the statement of the head of European diplomacy.
