All the most popular on Twitter-to the 10th anniversary of the service

Exactly 10 years ago, March 21, 2006, Jack Dorsie wrote his first tweet - and the story of Twitter began. In honor of the significant date, the Re/Code publication collected a little statistics: the most popular emoticon, hashtag, tweet, user and place.

The most popular emoji

Smileik $ (“tears of joy”) printed on Twitter 14.5 billion times - this is the most popular emoji on the site. By the way, $ alsobecame the word of 2015 according to the Oxford Dictionary.
