Representatives of the Association of Independent Observers, Chelyabinsk human rights activists Nikolai and Tatyana Shchur published an appeal to their colleagues due to the fact that for two weeks there has been no information about the whereabouts of Oleg Sentsov, a film director sentenced to 20 years in a strict regime colony on charges of terrorism in Crimea. The last message appeared on March 7, it said that Sentsov was taken away from the Chelyabinsk region. Earlier it was reported that Sentsov would serve his sentence in Yakutia.

Human rights activists urge colleagues to submit requests to the regional departments of the Federal Penitentiary Service about whether Sentsov is in any pre-trial detention center. Later, a lawyer from Irkutsk Vladimir Lukhtin said on Twitter that on March 16, Sentsov was sent by plane to Yakutsk.
