The judge read the verdict for two days. There was no much sense to follow the words pronounced by the judge: he consistently read out the circumstances of the case, the arguments of the prosecution and marked evidence of the defense. The judge reacted to Savchenko’s testimony “critically”, he rejected the testimony of Savchenko’s sister, as well as the testimony of other defense witnesses, considering that they were “refuted by the testimony of other witnesses.” The version of the defense of Alibi Savchenko considered the judge to be insolvent.

Half an hour later, the judge returned to the hall and announced that Savchenko was sentenced to 18 years for murder, by 10 years for attempted murder and a fine of 30 thousand rubles for crossing the border. As a result of a partial addition to Savchenko, a colony of general regime was sentenced to 22 years.

When the judge asked Savchenko, was the verdict clear to her, she cried out: “What did the prosecutor’s office did not ask? *******-******* [masturbated] and did not finish! " At the stage of the debate, Savchenko asked the judge to give her 23 years - exactly as much as the prosecutors asked so that they could not appeal the verdict and delay the process of its exchange. And now Savchenko does not intend to appeal. Lawyers will also not appeal the verdict.

However, the prosecutor’s office is clearly not going to appeal the verdict. The official representative of the IC Vladimir Markin, with his characteristic sense of humor, wrote on Twitter: “Goodbye, Tanya, maybe goodbye! Goodbye, Tanya, if you can, do not be angry! " He also criticized Savchenko’s defense, calling her lawyers “homegrown”.

Lawyer Savchenko Mark Feigin went to journalists after the announcement of the sentence and stated that the conviction of Savchenko had long been predicted by the defense. “We told you in advance that this court would not be honest, the innocent Savchenko was sentenced without any reason. Protection was presented absolutely all evidence of her innocence. Savchenko never killed and did not adjust the fire, as a result of which the journalists died, she never crossed the border. Immediately after the verdict, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced that he was ready to exchange Savchenko for two Russian troops (referring, obviously, Alexander Alexandrov and Evgeny Erofeev, the trial of which was drawing to a close in Kyiv). “Poroshenko told me that he was ready for any legal way to return Savchenko. Exchange for Russian troops would be more than logical, ”Feigin summed up.
