The judge read the verdict for two days. Unlike the six previous months of the meetings, the security measures - Lenin Street, where the court, was blocked, was blocked, an additional police inspection of things was blocked in front of the building (in addition to the usual judicial), and machine gunners stood up at the entrance to the court.
One and a half hundred journalists arrived in Donetsk, who, on the second day of the sentence, began to line up in a long queue near the court of the court from eight in the morning (at the same time, only half of them fell into the court at 10:00). An hour later, a Savchenko support group of Ukraine, headed by Svyatoslav Tsegolko, press secretary of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, and several deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, pulled here.
The employees of the Russia TV channel approached them and tried to ask questions.
“You are terrorists,” one of the members of the delegation told them instead of answering.
“Do you want us to sue you?” - answered the correspondent.
The policeman, who before this did not let the Ukrainians go to court, immediately missed the deputies and Tsygolko inside.
The police refused to let other Ukrainians out of line.
- What are you doing? We ask you humanly! We are close friends, we flew from Kyiv! Let go. God, what circus, ”the girl, who later introduced herself as a friend of the sister of Nadezhda Savchenko Vera and a member of the Fatherland party, switched to a cry.
“Wait in the general queue, with journalists,” the policeman repeated.
- Yes, they are on the drum, they would only have to shoot!
The police were silent.
- Are you kidding or what? Do you have no conscience or what? - shouted the girl but, reconciled, walked away.
- San Sanych, do not enter into a polemic. Why should these be held, but no journalists? - explained the senior to the policeman by rank.
According to a friend of Vera Savchenko, they do not want to in court, "so that there is moral support of hope in the hall." “They selectively let us into the hall, and then in the news show that two unfortunate activists came to Donetsk,” she complained.
Immediately after that, ideological opponents of Ukrainian deputies appeared in the square in front of the square-activists of the "People's Liberation Movement" (NOD). Immediately near the bench, one could see a small memorial to the dead correspondents of the VGTRK, which was built on the eve of the activists of the Rostov “Young Guard”. With the flags of the self -proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and the paintings of the node, activists lined up opposite the entrance to the court. Some held in their hands the posters of Savchenko is a War Criminal, “civilians of the Luhansk region. Do not forget, we will not forgive. ”
“You are separates, not civilians,” a girl with nails painted in the colors of Ukrainian flag threw through the poster through the poster. However, all the participants in the picket turned out to be the inhabitants of Rostov.
“Criminals must be punished. For the murder of people is usually punished, and we are standing that the court makes a worthy punishment. Do you know what pressure is on court? The ambassadors come, rallies are held, although it has already been proven that she is a criminal, ”said Nod activist Mikhail Kovalev.

“Each criminal in his sore head should understand that it is impossible to kill,” the picket, who held a photograph of the girl who died in the Donbass, told the Ukrainian journalist.
“She is a soldier,” the journalist retorted.
- Military personnel, moreover, should not kill civilians! I am a teacher from Rostov, and it’s close to me, ”she said, showing in the photo:“ It's normal, do you think? ”
- No, this is completely abnormal, but what does Savchenko have to do with it?
Meanwhile, the line of journalists did not decrease, they lost patience. They missed the military correspondents of the Komsomolskaya Pravda Dmitry Steshin and Alexander Kots, who are considered propagandists in Ukraine.
“The heroes of Russia were allowed, of course,” one of the journalists grumbled.
- How do you even choose people from the queue, who to miss? - specified Semyon Crushed, correspondent of Open Russia.
“There was a queue that you have erased and built your own,” the policeman answered and offered to write numbers on his palms.
“***** [very good] organization,” Nadezhda Preusenkova from Novaya Gazeta sarcastically remarked.
- Where is this bastard? - Two people in the biker jackets with the inscription "Donbass" approached the trial. They were not allowed to approach the court, and they immediately went to the store opposite.
Directly to the meeting room, where Judge Leonid Stepanenko read the sentence for the second day, was actually allowed only diplomats, relatives and friends of Savchenko, as well as employees of federal television channels. The rest of the journalists and activists watched the verdict from other video trading courts.
There was no much sense to follow the words pronounced by the judge: he consistently read out the circumstances of the case, the arguments of the prosecution and marked evidence of the defense. The judge reacted to Savchenko’s testimony “critically”, he rejected the testimony of Savchenko’s sister, as well as the testimony of other defense witnesses, considering that they were “refuted by the testimony of other witnesses.” The version of the defense of Alibi Savchenko considered the judge to be insolvent.
At some point, they joked in the hall.
“If someone has fun in the hall, then I can delete,” the judge said.
“To me,” Savchenko reacted from the Aquarium in the hanging silence. The judge did not react and continued to read the sentence.
“Beauty,” said Savchenko’s assistant in the radiation hall approval approvingly and applauded.
Activists supporting Savchenko sat in the press hall. Natalya Ivanova came to Donetsk from Sergiev Posad near Moscow. She was dressed in a yellow-blue jacket, a handbag with the emblem of Russia hung on her neck. “We have been supporting hope for a long time, we go to promotions in Moscow, here on March 8 wehave 33 out of a hundred people. On March 12, I went to the Manezhnaya Square with a poster: “We stood and will stand. Savchenko’s freedom”.
“Why do you support her at all?” - the journalist of the Ukrainian channel ICTV specified her.
- We were born with the inner feeling of freedom and were delighted that the Ukrainian people went to the Maidan against corruption. So far, we cannot act as Ukrainians, we have more pressure - for example, Ildar Dadin has already been given three and a half years simply for single pickets, ”she answered.

At a large lunch break, a lawyer Savchenko Ilya Novikov came out of the courtroom. He was absolutely calm, despite the fact that his client was about to be sentenced to a large prison term.
- No one in Russia can listen to the verdict with such a slight heart as it. A month later it will be exchanged, ”Novikov said.
“Why are you so sure of that?”
“Maybe I’m too big optimist, but after the visits of the [US Secretary of State John] Kerry, I almost won this,” Novikov answered me.
- But what about the explosions in Brussels? -asked Novikova an activist in a yellow-blue jacket.
“It's not us,” Novikov answered, smiling a little.
“But is this not pressure on the court?” She specified. On social networks, they really discussed the crazy version that the terrorist attack “not just like that” occurred on the day of Savchenko’s sentence.
- Putin, or what? - I ask with irony.
“I call it“ Kadyrovshchina, ”said the activist.
“No, this is not so, of course,” snapped Novikov.
The lawyer added that during his visit to the United States to the State Department he was told that promotion in the Minsk agreements is impossible without solving the problem of Savchenko. “I have hopes for it. I think that for months and years, Russia will not want to leave the situation like that. A pardon or exchange, but this will happen within a week or a month, ”Novikov said.
In his opinion, the Investigative Committee wanted to find a prisoner who admits that the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky "gave money to kill journalists." “They took Savchenko to arrange a demonstration process. But she was not broken and did not turn the process in time - and received what they received, ”said Novikov.
- Can I have your visit? - Suddenly an elderly mustachioed Cossack in uniform approached him.
- For what?
- I liked you.
- No, I will not give you a business card. I do not think that you are my future client, ”Novikov refused him.
After a break inside the court, the line of Ukrainian deputies, whom they did not want to let go into the hall again lined up.
- Pass the Ukrainian deputies into the hall! - the parliamentarians shouted to the bailiffs.
- Where are you, man? - asked the bailiff of the new arrived.
- From Slovakia.
- ABOUT! You go! - the bailiff said joyfully. The Ukrainian deputy began to explain to the Slovak diplomat in Ukrainian that he would help the bailiffs deprive Ukrainians in the hall, but he did not heed the Slovak to his requests.
“Don't you see, guys, that she will come out in a month?” - shouted the deputy to the bailiffs.

Novikov and his colleagues Nikolai Polozov and Mark Feigin, while reading the verdict, showed with all his appearance that their verdict of the judge was not at all interested in. Feigin and Polozov almost without looking up looked at his mobile phones, and Novikov completely read a magazine with an article about the Civil War in the United States.
By 16:00, Judge Stepanenko finally started the climax, but the defendant Savchenko did not immediately give him the term. As soon as Stepanenko called her guilty, Savchenko began to sing loudly, drowning out the voice of the judge: “Oh, judge, you judge mine. You will not judge anymore ”on the motive of the song“ Oh my braids ”.
At that moment, two young people with photographs of the murdered VGTRK employees entered into the hall, where journalists and activists watched the broadcast. "Someone of you thought that each of you could be in their place?" The guy asked. The journalists were silent.
- How much did you pay? - asked him pro -Ukrainian activists.
- They did not pay me. The people should know the truth, and not what you are carrying, ”the guy who entered.
-Out of here, title-prostitutes! - the activists shouted.
Half an hour later, the judge returned to the hall and announced that Savchenko was sentenced to 18 years for murder, by 10 years for attempted murder and a fine of 30 thousand rubles for crossing the border. As a result of a partial addition to Savchenko, a colony of general regime was sentenced to 22 years.
When the judge asked Savchenko, was the verdict clear to her, she cried out: “What did the prosecutor’s office did not ask? *******-******* [masturbated] and did not finish! " At the stage of the debate, Savchenko asked the judge to give her 23 years - exactly as much as the prosecutors asked so that they could not appeal the verdict and delay the process of its exchange. And now Savchenko does not intend to appeal. Lawyers will also not appeal the verdict.
However, the prosecutor’s office is clearly not going to appeal the verdict. The official representative of the IC Vladimir Markin, with his characteristic sense of humor, wrote on Twitter: “Goodbye, Tanya, maybe goodbye! Goodbye, Tanya, if you can, do not be angry! " He also criticized Savchenko’s defense, calling her lawyers “homegrown”.
- Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes! The glory of the nation! - shouted Savchenko from the aquarium. The support group delayed the Ukrainian anthem, and the press secretary of the President of Ukraine took out the flag of Ukraine, but he was quickly taken out of the hall.
“Unfortunate, they cannot distinguish the criminal from the hero,” said one of the Russian activists supporting Savchenko. - Shame on Russia.

Lawyer Savchenko Mark Feigin went to journalists after the announcement of the sentence and stated that the conviction of Savchenko had long been predicted by the defense. “We told you in advance that this court would not be honest, the innocent Savchenko was sentenced without any reason. Protection was presented absolutely all evidence of her innocence. Savchenko never killed and did not adjust the fire, as a result of which the journalists died, she never crossed the border. But she will not serve his sentence. I guarantee you this. As a result of today's indignation of the heads of state, it will certainly be free, ”said Feigin.
Immediately after the verdict, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced that he was ready to exchange Savchenko for two Russian troops (referring, obviously, Alexander Alexandrov and Evgeny Erofeev, the trial of which was drawing to a close in Kyiv). “Poroshenko told me that he was ready for any legal way to return Savchenko. Exchange for Russian troops would be more than logical, ”Feigin summed up.
Activists of the NOD escorted from the court of pro -Ukrainian activists.
- The killer must be in prison! They shouted.
- Glory to Ukraine! - the Ukrainians answered.
- You are guests of our city, so behave decently. We wish you a speedy recovery, ”the teacher wished the Ukrainians, holding a photograph of the deceased girl in their hands.
