© International Diaghilev FestivalThe anniversary, tenth international Diaghilev festival will be held in Perm from June 17 to 30, 2016. His program has world and Russian premieres, chamber and symphonic concerts, performances, exhibitions, open lectures, master classes and meetings in a festival club.
According to the press service of the festival, it will be discovered by the premiere of the opera Verdi “Traviata” in the production of Robert Wilson, the co-production of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater and the Opera Lynz Theater, dedicated to the impresario Gerarier Mortier (1943–2014).
Also in the program of the world premiere of the opera of the French composer Philip Ersan “Tristia” , written by order of the Perm opera for verses by prisoners from France and Russia. The premiere will be held at two venues: in the Perm Art Gallery and in the new concert hall, which will be announced additionally.
One of the most striking events of the festival is the joint performance of the Le Poème Harmonique orchestra and Musicaeterna choir, which will perform Selva Morale E Spirituale . In the performance of the Graindlavoix choir from Belgium, works of another representative of the late Renaissance and the Early Baroque, Chipriano de Rore will sound.
In the ballet part of the program, the avant -garde “Faun” of the Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Sherkai, inspired by Nizhinsky’s ballet “Afternoon Favan Dream” and set to the centenary of the Diaghilev “Seasons”. Another premiere of the season will be Tchaikovsky’s ballet “Swan Lake” in the editorial office of Alexei Miroshnichenko.
Among the participants in the concert program, the Pianists Luke Debarg and Anton Batagov, violinist Thomas Tsetmayer, Karolin Vidman and Alina Ibrahimova, Bariton Andre Shuen and Mezzo-Soprano Paul Marriha. The guest of the festival will be the Rostov group of Motorama , which performs indie rock in the spirit of the "New Wave".
The festival will end with a concert of the festival orchestra under the direction of the artistic director of the Diaghilev festival and the Perm Opera and Ballet Theodore Kurentzis. The sixth symphony of Malera will be performed.
The Diaghilev festival - 2016 will be held at several venues: in the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater, in the organ hall and the Perm Art Gallery, in the Diaghilev’s house and for the first time at the new concert venue, which is still kept in secret.
A festival club will be arranged on theatrical square (its program will be announced separately). This year, he will turn into an independent project and extend his work for several summer months.
“This year we decided to get closer to the ideas of Diaghilev himself, who sought to expand the borders. - says Theodore Krentzis. - We add an educational element. We want people, especially young ones, have access to information, to the best examples of modern culture, have the opportunity not only to see them, but also to chat with their creators. Therefore, there will be master classes for students with leading artists performing at the festival: both with Bob Wilson and Vincenn Ducker from Le Poème Harmonique . ”
In addition, lectures of Alexei Parina, Vadim Gaevsky and Kirill Kobrin are planned at the festival. For the second time, the Diaghilev festival award for young critics in the field of academic music and the Musical Theater "Resonance" will be awarded.
