The ruling coalition nominated Groysman as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine

"Bloc of Petro Poroshenko" nominated the candidacy of the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Groysman for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the faction Yuri Lutsenko, reports Ligabusinessinform.

According to Lutsenko, Groysman’s candidacy is ready to consider, in addition to the BPP, the Popular Front, the Fatherland and the Radical Party. The candidate of the post that is now the Minister of Finance Natalia Yaresko were ready to support only the BPP and the "Popular Front". The willingness to support it was also expressed by the Self -Help faction. However, this faction categorically refuses to take part in any coalition format, which, according to Lutsenko, made this option impossible.

BPP suggested the "Popular Front" to determine the candidate of the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada. “In order to avoid the concentration of power in one hand,” Lutsenko explained. Answering the question of whether the BPP faction is ready to support Andrei Parubiy’s candidacy for this position, he said: "Andrei Parubiy is my longtime friend and ally. I have no doubt that his candidacy will be supported. But let's wait for the official candidate of the Popular Front."

On Friday, Groysman will present a government action plan. "Groysman tomorrow will present four fractions that are ready to work in the coalition, their plan for the current year," Lutsenko said.

It is necessary to "create a professional government with political support for the Ukrainian parliament, which will be responsible, transparent and effective," Groysman said . “I do not want another government to our country or other countries - our friends and partners,” he emphasized.

The day before, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called on all the coalition factions to decide on the candidate of the Prime Minister. The head of the presidential administration, Boris Lozhkin, said that the choice is between Yaresko and Groysman.

On February 16, Poroshenko called on the prime minister of the country Arseniy Yatsenyuk to resign . “The moment for a partial renewal of the Cabinet of Ministers has been missed,” the request published on the president’s website said. “The request for a full reloading of the government is now obvious.”

The president noted that the Ukrainian Constitution does not give him the right to "directly regulate the relations of the coalition and the cabinet of ministers, and even more so to solve personnel issues independently." “But as a guarantor of the Constitution, as a person who took responsibility for the reform strategy, I cannot indifferently observe what is happening,” he added. “So far, between the two buildings on Grushevsky (Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet. - Ed.), Like a hot coal, they transfer responsibility, does not move forward and stomping in place of the whole country.”

Poroshenko remembered transparently that if Yatsenyuk did not agree to the full update of the government, the Verkhovna Rada would have to dissolve. At the same time, he assured that he would not want to take such a step. “The country,” the president remarked, “has no time reserve to plunge into the election campaign for the fourth time, and even in the conditions of external aggression for the fourth time.”
