The Associated Press reports with reference to the special services that the Islamic State terrorist group (IG, prohibited in the Russian Federation) prepared at least 400 militants to organize a wave of European attacks. The message emphasizes that we are talking about the special training of terrorists to act outside the territory controlled by the IG. They have a personnel resource for this: about 5,000 Europeans went to Syria to join the group. The specificity is that the organizers of the attacks, according to the new rules, have the opportunity to independently choose the time and place for the attack, without coordinating this with the central leadership.

The Zero Hedge blog writes that this is a rather predictable turn of events. The recently arrested organizer of the Parisian terrorist attacks of Salah Abdesslam, the media tend to represent as a significant figure - a person who was responsible for the activity of a whole terrorist cell. This approach is convenient for the authorities who strive to reassure the excited public. In fact, Abdeslam is very unlike that terrorist general, in the form of which they try to portray it.

In theory, the leaders of such missions usually die during terrorist attacks, after which they receive the status of martyrs who donated themselves in the name of the common cause. And they definitely do not allow themselves to arrest, as Abdeslam did. Most likely, he really “inherited” the leadership of the cell after death during the terrorist attack of its former leader Abdelhamid Abaaud. The author admits that he was a kind of deserter who was not killed, but, on the contrary, was kept under the guise of the organizer before his arrest.

The problem is that the European special services, on the contrary, work only within their jurisdictions and practically do not cooperate with each other. Moreover, their coordination is difficult that each jurisdiction considers it not to share his right to anyone. Meanwhile, the author comments if the intelligence had not rested against the state borders, this would probably have prevented the terrorist attack on March 22.
