
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (National Security and Defense Council) decided to impose personal sanctions against Russians involved in “unlawful actions” against citizens of Ukraine, the press service of the department said .
“Sanctions apply to persons who have committed a crime against citizens of Ukraine: Nadezhda Savchenko, Oleg Sentsov and other patriots. The list includes persons involved in the abduction, illegal detention, torture, falsification of cases, organizing and conducting custom and worthless from a legal point of view of “sentences” of Russian courts. Among the persons who were included in the sanctions list: the heads and employees of the FSB, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the prosecutor's office, the judicial corps, the military and others, ”the department said.
Kyiv requires Savchenko’s issuance along with other Ukrainians convicted in the Russian Federation. In particular, the Ukrainian authorities turned to the Russian Ministry of Justice with a proposal to exchange Oleg Sentsov and other citizens of Ukraine who became involved in the case of terrorist attacks in Crimea, for 13 convicted Russians. The Russian court found Savchenko guilty and sentenced to 22 years in prison.
