Putin left Kadyrov as the head of Chechnya

President Vladimir Putin appointed the acting head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov. It is reported by Interfax .

Putin also hoped that Kadyrov would participate in the elections of the head of the republic, which will be held on September 18. The source of Interfax, surrounded by Kadyrov, assured that he would go to the polls. Kadyrov himself promised "to justify trust and serve faithfully."

At the end of February, the presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the issue of the possible resignation of Kadyrov is not the topic of the Kremlin, since the authorities are focused on “the grades that the head of state gives, and the proposals that he makes to one or another.”

Putin called Kadyrov’s work at the post effective. The head of Chechnya himself, in an interview with NTV, said on February 27 that he was ready to leave his post, and advised the Russian leadership to “find another person”. At the same time, he noted that "any decision on this issue is made by Russian President Vladimir Putin."

Earlier, he reported that “does not want to be distracted” to questions about the election and that he “did not think” about the prospects to run again to the post of head of the republic.

For the first time, the parliament of the republic approved Ramzan Kadyrov as the head of Chechnya on March 2, 2007 for a period of four years. At the end of 2007, amendments to the Constitution of the Republic on a change in the term of powers of the head and parliament from four to five years were amended at the popular referendum. As a result, for a second term, Kadyrov’s candidacy was approved by Chechnya’s parliament on March 5, 2011. Kadyrov’s powers as the head of the republic expire in April 2016.
