On Monday, late in the evening, the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction in the Verkhovna Rada announced the nomination of the speaker of the parliament Vladimir Groysman for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine. At the same time, the BPP left the ruling coalition before the election of the new government.
The candidates of ministers are only being discussed, the Ukrainian press publishes various options for the “chess”, the distribution of posts in the government. However, the agreement on the creation of a new coalition is nevertheless signed by the BPP (137 deputies), the “People’s Front” (81 deputies) and “Fatherland” (19 deputies). In principle, the majority of the BPP and the Popular Front would be enough to create, but negotiations even went with the Radical Party, which, however, did not join the coalition.
The previous coalition was formed immediately after the parliamentary elections, in November 2014. It then included five factions, the members of which supported Euromaidan, “Overboard” of the coalition then only the “Opposition Bloc” remained, built on the remains of the “Party of Regions”, led by President Viktor Yanukovych. Initially, the coalition included more than 300 deputies from the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc”, “Popular Front”, “Fatherland”, “Self -help” and “Radical Party”.
Verkhovna Rada photo: rada.gov.uaGradually, due to dissatisfaction with the work of the government, some political forces left the coalition, and ultimately it all ended with a full-fledged government crisis. Rada, however, was never able to endure the votum of distrust of the cabinet Arseniy Yatsenyuk, but this, as it is now clear, extended his life for only a few weeks.
In fact, at the same time, I was finally able to resign the general prosecutor of the country Viktor Shokin. On February 16, Shokin called for President Petro Poroshenko personally resigned to quit. According to him, during the year the prosecutor’s office was not able to enlist the confidence of society, although Shokin carried out reforms that “resisted decades” in the department: in particular, the creation of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau and the State Bureau of Investigations.
Shokin began his activities with the detention of the former head of the “Party of Regions” faction Alexander Efremov, but later he was released on bail, and the investigation of the activities of other regionals actually failed.
Although it is too early to talk about the distribution of portfolios in the new government, some schemes are already published . Of course, most of the names Russians do not say anything, but some can still pay attention to.
So, the post of Minister of the Interior, apparently, will preserve Arsen Avakov - this figure causes persistent allergies among some Russian politicians, as well as the governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili.
Mikhail Saakashvili. Photo: dyvys.inThey are going to appoint Ivan Miklos to the post of Minister of Finance-he held a similar post in the Slovak government in 2002-2006 and 2010-2012. A small intrigue was that in order to obtain a ministerial post, Miklosha would have to enter into Ukrainian citizenship and abandon the citizenship of Slovakia, but the politician had already given his preliminary consent to his appointment.
Boris Lozhkin, who has so far heads the presidential administration, seemed to be the key post of the Minister of Economics and, concurrently, the Deputy Prime Minister. If Lozhkin refuses, then Alexander Shlapak, who was the first Minister of Finance in the Yatsenyuk government, can take the post, but resigned in December 2014.
