In the suitcase US Secretary of State John Kerry carried off the plane in Moscow when he arrived in Russia last week, there were documents for the negotiations. Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov told reporters about this.

“[There were] documents for conversations with Putin and Lavrov,” Ryabkov said, TASS reports . At the same time, the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry emphasized that he could not say more specifically.

“I don’t know how it was received, but it’s a fact that there were serious conversations and there were no attempts to avoid pressing issues on either side,” Ryabkov added.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention to Kerry’s red suitcase during a meeting in the Kremlin. “I saw your arrival and was upset. On the one hand, this is very democratic, on the other hand, is there really no one to carry the suitcase for the Secretary of State? <...> I thought that you had brought something valuable that you could not trust to anyone. Or was there money there?” - Putin asked, jokingly suggesting that Kerry needed the money in order to “bargain” at the negotiations in Moscow.

In response, Kerry promised that when he manages to talk with Putin in private, he will demonstrate the contents of the suitcase. “You will be surprised: it will be a surprise for you, a pleasant surprise,” Kerry said at a meeting in the Kremlin.

Earlier, the question about the red suitcase of the US Secretary of State was asked to Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
