President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on sanctions against people involved, according to Kiev, in the illegal criminal prosecution of Nadezhda Savchenko, Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko.
The sanctions list includes 84 people. Among them are the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin, the director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Viktor Grin, the prosecutor of Crimea Natalya Poklonskaya and the leader of the LPR Igor Plotnitsky.
The list also included Pavel Karpov, whom Novaya Gazeta called an assistant to an employee of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation and a curator of right-wing movements, including the Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists (BORN). Savchenko stated in court that it was Karpov who took her from Luhansk to Russia.
The decision of the National Security and Defense Council contains a list of individuals to whom unlimited personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) will be applied.
