The project of the main cathedral mosque of the peninsula is approved in Crimea

The Crimea approved the project of the Cathedral Mosque of the Peninsula, which will be erected in Simferopol.

According to the project, the mosque will include the main building with a dome and the courtyard with colonnades and a place for washing before prayer. The total capacity of the mosque will be about 4 thousand people, while 1.5 thousand men and 900 women will be able to accommodate in the main chapel hall, the Interfax-religion portal, citing the press service of the spiritual administration of the Muslims of the Republic of Crimea.

In November last year, in connection with the Russian-Turkish conflict and the replacement of the main contractor, the construction process was suspended.

In addition, according to the muftiyat, the restoration of ancient mosques continues in the village of Cheremisovka of the Belogorsky district and the village of Rotorechye, mosques in the city of Krasnoperekopsk, in the villages of Mikhailovka, Silkovichnaya and Mityaevo, the villages of Belo-5, the Chernomorsky and others.

The main mosque of Crimea began to be built in Simferopol at the end of September 2015 on Yalta Street. The building will be surrounded by four minarets 49 m high. The diameter of the dome of the mosque is 18 m. Expensive rocks of stones will be used in the decoration.

The desire to help the construction of the mosque was announced by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, chairman of the Council of Mufties of Russia (SMR) Ravil Gainutdin and many others.

Recall that in November last year, the Crimean authorities decided to abandon the services of the Turkish company Erbek, which was supposed to engage in the construction of the mosque.

“Given the current political realities, relations with the Turkish construction organization are curtailed, we will look for a new contractor for the construction of a cathedral mosque,” ​​said a source in the regional government, indicating that the reason for the revision of the Relations was the attack of the Turkish Air Force on the Russian Su -24 bomber in Syria, which died the aircraft pilot.

The construction of the Cathedral Mosque of Crimea began in Simferopol on September 25. Before its beginning, the vice-speaker of the Crimean parliament, the leader of the Kyrym movement Remi Ilyasov, who spoke at a press conference in the capital of the peninsula, said that almost all issues were “removed regarding construction”. He also noted that the construction of the mosque should begin "On the second day of the great Muslim holiday in December 2014, a meeting of the Chairman of the SMR Ravil Gainutdin with the head of the Office for Religion of Turkey Mehmed Hermuz was held in Istanbul, during which the Turkish authorities would help in the restoration of the Central Cathedral Mosque in Crimea, as well as the construction of cult buildings in other regions of the Russian Federation.

Gainutdin and Hermes discussed, in addition, the "issues of deepening cooperation" of Turkey and Russia in the field of Islamic education, education, and publishing.

"One of these joint projects should be the reconstruction of the complex of the Central Cathedral Mosque and the Seit-Settar Jami Madrasah in the historical part of Simferopol," the SMR press release said.

At the end of August 2015, the mufti of Crimea Emirali Ablaev also met with Mehmed Hermuz in Ankara. Mufti expressed the hope of "that the procedure for obtaining a building permit will take a little time, and together (with Turkey) in the near future we will begin laying the foundation of the mosque."

Mehmed Hermoz in a response word emphasized fidelity to the obligations taken "before the fraternal people."

In April 2014, the topic of building a mosque in Crimea was raised by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov. He said that the Muslim community of Sevastopol asked for help in the repair of the old mosque.
