Rafis Kashapov was placed in a punishment cell for the third term in a row

The head of the Tatar Community Center, Rafis Kashapova, immediately after arriving at the place of serving his sentence in correctional colony No. 19 near the city of Ukhta, was placed in a punishment cell. The Tatar radio station “Azatlyk” talks about this.

reports Kashapov's wife Nurzia was unable to get a meeting with her husband, despite the fact that she and her son had to travel more than 1,200 kilometers to do this. According to Kashapova, the family was not informed about the whereabouts of the convict for a long time.

Immediately after arriving at the colony, Kashapov was placed in a punishment cell for 10 days. After the expiration of the deadline, it was extended two more times.

The wife and son of the political prisoner met with the head of the correctional institution, Yuri Amosov, who explained to them that their husband and father are now isolated from the main part of the convicts, which cannot be granted a visit at the moment.

Because of this, Kashapova and her son went home, stopping on the way in Syktyvkar to meet with the local ombudsman Nadezhda Bykovskaya and the chairman of the republican supervisory commission for the protection of the rights of convicts Nikolai Zbrazhsky. During the conversation, another gross violation became obvious - the court sentenced Kashapov to serve his sentence in a general regime colony, but now he is in a maximum security colony.

On September 15, the city court found the head of the Tatar Public Center, Rafis Kashapov, guilty of calls for separatism and inciting national hatred (under the second part of Article 280.1 and the first part of Article 282 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced him to three years in prison in a general regime colony.
