April 1 and 2 - XXIV Big Bath Readings
(together with the New Literary Review Publishing House)
This year, large bath readings are devoted to the problem of the formation of secular culture in traditionalist, authoritarian, self -isolationist modern societies: strategies for survival, resistance, adaptation and creating conditions for personal and social autonomy from state dictates.
The conference also raises the question of how such strategies were effective in the conditions of authoritarian systems and how suitable for the formation of a posttotalitarian society.

The film tells about the military events that took place in Estonia in 1944, during the July fights in Sinimaye to November, when the Syrve Peninsula was already conquered by the troops of the Soviet Army. The war is shown through the eyes of the Estonians, who fought on the side of the German army in the 20th Estonian division of Waffen-SS , and as part of the 8th Estonian Rifle Corps of the Soviet Army.
For the inhabitants of Estonia, it was a war, where representatives of the same people fought with each other, where someone could choose for themselves, and whom they were forced to find themselves in Peckla. The main characters of the picture are faced with a difficult choice - the soldiers of the warring parties Karl Tammik and Yuri Yigi - as well as their colleagues, relatives, friends and completely unfamiliar people ...
