A resident of Chuvashia quarreled with his partner over her ex-husband and killed her

The Cheboksary District Court sentenced a 28-year-old unemployed man to 11 years in a maximum security colony and one year of restriction of freedom for the murder of his cohabitant (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code). This was reported on the website of the Investigative Committee for Chuvashia.

The incident occurred on the night of December 30 in the Chuvash village of Ishley. A drunk man in his apartment quarreled with his partner because she continued to communicate with her ex-husband. The man stabbed her 14 times in the head, neck and back. The woman died on the spot.

A forensic psychiatric examination found no grounds to declare the man insane. According to the results of this examination, at the time of the commission of the crime and at the present time, the man was and is aware of the nature and social danger of his actions and is directing them.

Previously, the convicted person was brought to criminal responsibility four times, including for theft, beatings and robbery. At the time of the murder of his cohabitant, his last conviction for robbery had not been expunged. The investigator made a submission to the internal affairs bodies, demanding that the circumstances that contributed to the murder be eliminated. In particular, the investigator drew attention to omissions in the work to prevent recidivism among those with previous convictions.
