Putin approved the All -Russian plan to combat corruption

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the national plan of combating corruption for 2016-2017. The document is published on the Kremlin website on April 1.

The decree provides that until June 10 of this year, the government must submit a consolidated report on measures to combat corruption. Also, the head of the presidential administration, Sergei Ivanov, was instructed to check how work is underway to prevent corruption in regional and federal state bodies, as well as in state corporations.

The plan, among other things, contains the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to take measures to prevent attempts to steal budget funds that are allocated for the implementation of federal target programs, the largest investment projects, overhaul of apartment buildings, as well as the preparation of the 2018 World Cup. The report on the implementation of the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs should be provided before December 1, 2017.

Also, the Union of Journalists of Russia is recommended together with interested state bodies to organize the holding of the annual competition of journalistic publications on the topic “Mass Media against Corruption”. The unions of the media workers are recommended to publish declarations on the income of journalists.

The plan provides that the effectiveness of anti -corruption measures will be evaluated using sociological studies among the population. The results should be presented until October 1, 2017.

At the end of March 2016, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation estimated the damage from corruption in the country last year at 44 billion rubles. In the rating of the perception of corruption compiled by the International Organization of Transparency International, Russia took 119th place in 2015, while in 2014 it was in the 136th.
