Andrei Kolomiets, a participant in the Euromaidan in Kyiv, is subjected to pressure in SIZO-1 in Simferopol by cellmates. This was reported by the Crimean Human Rights Group.
According to the lawyer, two of Kolomiyets' cellmates (supporters of the DPR and LPR) provoke Kolomiyets into quarrels, insult and humiliate him, and also threaten him with physical violence. In addition to national and political enmity, they also show religious enmity towards him. The rest of the inmates are more hostile than neutral towards the Maidan activist. In total, at least 10 people are kept in the six-seat cell where the Maidanovite is placed.
Kolomiyets was accused of attempted murder of two former Berkut employees during the Maidan in Kiev, as well as possession of drugs.
This is the second such case. Alexander Kostenko was convicted in August 2015 of attacking a Berkut fighter and possession of a weapon. In the pre-trial detention center, he was also put under pressure.
