On the Web, they collect money for a photo project about Soviet sanatoriums

British journalist Maryam Omidi announced a fundraiser for creating a book about the sanatoriums of the times of the USSR preserved to this day.

On the project “The Last Resort: The Strange Beauty of Soviet Sanatorium” will be an international team of photographers: Claudin Duchy (Paris), Mikhal Solari (London), Yegor Rogalev (Petersburg), Olga Ivanova (Moscow), Dmitry Lukyanov (Krasnodar-Moskov) and Rena Fitzeck (Berlin).

The fundraising campaign is held on the Kickstarter platform. To finance trips of project participants to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia and other countries of the former USSR, it takes 15,100 pounds (about $ 21,500).

Those who make donations in favor of the project promise a variety of prizes - from vintage cards to relaxing in one of the sanatoriums and, of course, the book itself, which should be published in the London Fuel publishing house in the spring of 2017.

“For the first time, a complete collection of photographs and texts dedicated to the sanatoriums of the Soviet era - their history and, most importantly, their future fate, will be collected in this book,” writes Maryam Omidi.
