1986 Explosion at a disco in West Berlin

30 years ago, on April 5, 1986, there was an explosion at the La Belle disco in West Berlin, which was frequented by US military personnel. As a result of a terrorist attack carried out by Libyan intelligence agents, two US soldiers and a girl from Turkey were killed. More than 250 people were injured. In November 2001, the verdict on the organizers of the attack was announced. 42-year-old German Verena Khanaa and Palestinian Yaser Hraidi received 14 years in prison, and Verena's ex-husband, Palestinian Ali Khanaa, and Libyan citizen Abulgasem Eter received 12 years each.
