At 00:00 on April 5, the sentence began, the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko began: the Donetsk court of the Rostov Region sentenced her to 22 years in prison for the murder of journalists, Interfax reports with reference to Savchenko, Mark Feigina.
According to him, Nadezhda refused to appeal the verdict , so at midnight on April 5 he entered into force and should be performed. The lawyer noted that Savchenko does not see the need to appeal, since it is not possible to achieve a fair attitude in the Russian court.
“What is the point of trying to change something, understanding, from the experience of communicating with Russian justice that you will not prove anything, and humiliate further?” - noted Feigin.
Earlier, the defense of Savchenko reported that she stopped eating again (for some time she consumed baby food) and now she only drinks water. The Ukrainian side has repeatedly made hints of their readiness to exchange a pilot for Russian citizens who are in conclusion, but the Russian authorities are not ready to agree on such a deal so far.
