In the anniversary issue of the TRV- science, we published a selection of responses of leading Russian enlighteners " What you dream about as a person and enlightener." Not all the answers managed to accommodate the room, so we decided to continue the publication of the "dream".
Egor Bykovsky , scientific journalist, head. Department of Science of the magazine "Around the World", author and leading radio program "Science in Focus":
A man and a scientific journalist in me dream of, it would seem, about completely different things. But in fact, about the same thing. A scientific journalist in me dreams that when working on the widest audience, it was not necessary to make giant, almost 95-percent discounts “for the audience”, it was not necessary to simplify everything to complete idiocy, it was not necessary to chew everything before porridge (otherwise no one would understand anything, they would be offended and will not read your article/site/site/channel).
And for this you need a strong education with motivated students, you need a stable growing economy, which gives its inhabitants a enough free time to read a scientpop - when you do not need to run in five work, trying to earn children for bread. We have received an approximately similar situation in recent years: an increase in interest in the achievements of science and technology is a deferred reaction to a relatively well -fed life. If you follow this logic, then an interest in scientific popularization will gradually roll back with the current fall in the standard of living (it’s good that not immediately).
A person in me also dreams of stability - shocks are interesting in my youth, but now I want children (and not around the mountains and grandchildren) to be reliable and comfortable. Stability, of course, is not in terms of standing in place, but moving forward, uniform and meaningful.
So far, a scientific journalist is lucky more than a person: his dreams come true more fully. Let's see what will happen next. In any case, the “Trinity version is science” of long and successful years of life. He, as much as possible, is involved in the Juits of all my dreams-both scientific-journalistic and human.
Andrey Rostovtsev, physicist, one of the creators of Dissernet:
I dream that virtue reigned in the world and it could not be exchanged for money. So that everywhere and at all times there was a deficiency of dense fools and quoted degenerates. In order for two -dealing and double -mindedness to come out of fashion, and confidence and ability to think came in. So that there are things in honor, not demagogy. To plant trees, not democrats. So that the Duma becomes a place for discussions. So that the deputies do not have bought diplomas and linden dissertations. To end this madhouse as soon as possible. Children - good mothers and dads. Old people - longevity. TRV - a glorious road of decades long.
Elizabeth Bonch- Osmolovskaya,
Biologist, head. Laboratory of hyperthermophilic microbial communities and deputy. Director of the Institute of Microbiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences:
Dreaming - it is understood that about the unrealizable ... well, for example, so that intelligence and freedom of spirit, characteristic of the TRV, spread to our entire scientific community. But for this, some very large changes and in completely different areas should occur. And for the dream, which, I hope, will come true, I will choose this word - “I hope”. I really hope that with the departure of the older generation, which is no longer around the corner, the wonderful youth of our laboratory will not break and will not be confused, but it will be also gambling and fruitfully working as we do all together now.
