Olympia will be brought to Russia.

April 19 at the State Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin (Physician) will open an exhibition at which the painting "Olympia" Eduard Mane from the collection of the Museum of D'Orse will be presented.

“Perhaps the most famous masterpiece of one of the founders of impressionism, written by him in 1863 and only once left the walls of the D'Ors museum in Paris, will appear at the exhibition surrounded by three works from the Assembly of the GMIA named after A.S. Pushkin, ” the museum’s website reports.

These are the paintings “The Queen (King’s wife)” (1895) Gauguen’s fields and “Lady Behind the toilet” (c. 1520) Julio Pippi, as well as the sculpture of Aphrodite, a signal prusher (Roman copy from the original of OK 350 BC).

In 2013, Olympia was demonstrated at the exhibition at the Venice Palace of Doge, along with Venus Urbinskaya, Titian, who became a source of inspiration for Manu and prompted to write a modern Venus, whose image caused a scandal on the Paris salon in 1865, TASS notes.

The organizers of the Moscow exhibition decided to accompany the canvas of Manet with works that interpret the theme of female beauty and love in different eras.

The exhibition in the PHMI will last its work until July 17, after which Olympia will be represented in the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg.
