Russian President Vladimir Putin gathered for a nuclear summit in the United States, but did not go on the advice of experts in the field of nuclear activities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, TASS reports.

“Yes, I was invited, and my colleague (US President Barack Obama) personally invited me,” said the head of state at the media forum of the All -Russian Popular Front (ONF) Pravda and Justice in St. Petersburg.

Putin explained his decision: "As it became clear, this is a home event, most likely American, and usually events of this kind are based on a consensus and the opportunity to take part in the development of final decisions."

At the summit, the work was "divided into five groups, we were offered to participate in only one, and, accordingly, our representatives could contribute to the final decision in only one direction." This did not suit Moscow, which, according to Putin, was “directly and frankly” stated by the Americans: “Let me, such a large nuclear power as Russia cannot participate or cover such an event with its presence and not be able to influence the development of final decisions.” Note that Washington called Russia a refusal to participate in the summit with self -isolation and lost opportunity.

Putin also accused the United States of failure to fulfill the agreements on the disposal of weapons Plutonium. “Somewhere in the early 2000s, we agreed with the Americans to destroy weapons of plutonium, it was about excessive weapons plutonia, developed by American enterprises, and ours. This is that splitting highly enriched material that is used to prepare nuclear weapons. 34 tons on both sides,” the President explained.

“It was necessary to build special enterprises for this. We fulfilled our obligations, we built this enterprise. Our American partners are not,” the Russian leader said.

Putin emphasized that it should "think about what to do with it."

The nuclear security summit took place in Washington from March 31 to April 1. Within its framework, Barack Obama accused Russia of violating the RSMD agreement and called for negotiations .
