2013. Mikhail Beketov died

Three years ago, on April 8, 2013, the Russian journalist, editor-in-chief and founder of the newspaper Khimkinskaya Pravda, 55-year-old Mikhail Vasilievich Beketov died. He was one of the leaders of the struggle to preserve the Khimki forest, which were ready to destroy the mayor of Himmok Vladimir Strelchenko and the northwestern concession company Arkady Rotenberg, which laid the Moscow -Petersburg road through the Khimki forest.

On November 13, 2008, Mikhail Beketov was brutally beaten and crippled by unknown. As a result, he lost his feet and several fingers on his hand, received a heavy traumatic brain injury, and almost lost his speech. Beketov died, choked on food in the hospital. Death is recognized as an accident. Participants and customers of his beating have not yet been found.
