
On Sunday, April 10, in the Great Choral synagogue of St. Petersburg will be held "The Day of the Jewish Book". The event is organized by the Federation of Jewish communities of Russia (Feor) and the Jewish community of the Northern capital.
As part of the book exhibition, Feor publishing projects will be presented.
"The Day of the Jewish Book" is the first book exhibition over the past few years in our country, which will be devoted exclusively by the Jewish book and its history. We hope that this action will allow you to tell a fairly wide audience about the versatility of Jewish literature and the successes of our book publishing, ” RIA Novosti quoted the words of the head of the Department of Public Relations Feor Borukh Gorina.
He noted that the issue of holding such events in other cities of Russia will be considered in the event of a successful holding of the "Jewish Book Day" in St. Petersburg.
The following book publishing projects will be presented to the attention of the guests of the exhibition: “Bet - Library of Jewish texts”, “Prose of Jewish life”, “Chais collection”, “History of Jews”, as well as the books of the publishing house “Scribes”. On the same day, a presentation of the first volume of the Russian -speaking version of the Babylonian Talmud will be held as part of the event.
As part of the event, a series of lectures and master classes will also be held. The “Jewish Book Day” will complete the performance of the oldest and hereditary bindeer of St. Petersburg Zinoviy Solomon.
