
The co -founder and general director of Mail.ru Group Dmitry Grishin launches his second Grishin Robotics fund with a capital of $ 100 million, which will continue to invest in robotics and the Internet of things, the Vedomosti newspaper, citing a report of the Fund.
The publication notes that the first Grishin fund for investment in robotics was created in 2012 and since then its funds were invested in 12 companies. At the same time, the fund reported that if the capital of the first fund Grishin was replenished with personal money, then other investors from the USA and Europe will be invested in the second fund.
The first object of investment of Grishin in September 2012 was the developer of robots for conducting Double Robotics. The company received 250 thousand dollars, and in December of the same year, a similar amount was invested in the online store of software for RobotAppstore robots.
In July 2013, the Fund invested $ 300 thousand in the American company Nanosatismfi, developing nanosmists intended for collecting data and images of space objects, and in January 2014, Grishin Robotics invested $ 1.125 million in the company Petnet, which develops a robot that monitors home -made livestock.
By increasing the capital of the fund, Grishin Robotics will focus on larger transactions, reservating up to $ 10 million for each company. This amount will include both initial and subsequent investments.
Note that the general director of Mail.ru Group is not the only Russian businessman investing in technological projects. So, at the end of December last year, a billionaire Roman Abramovich saved one of the investors of the Blindspot messenger, and in June he invested $ 2.5 million in the Israeli startups of Mobilibuy Safer Place.
