The head of the Kazansky railway station, Sergei Donetsky, has been charged with taking a bribe. This is stated in the message of the Moscow Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Donetsky was charged under Part 3 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe through an intermediary for illegal inaction).

Donetsky was detained on March 4, 2016. Since that day he has been under arrest . By court decision, he was sent into custody until May 2. Today, as Interfax reports , this decision was recognized as legal.

According to investigators, Donetsky, being an official, decided to systematically make a profit for himself by receiving monthly bribes from one of the tenants of retail space at the Kazansky railway station. According to the Investigative Committee, the demand for a bribe in the amount of several tens of thousands of rubles was made no later than February 2016. In return, Donetsky promised not to take measures to suppress the tenant’s unlawful use of additional retail space, the Investigative Committee believes. Donetsky was detained red-handed on March 2 in his office. His lawyer Lyudmila Aivar previously clarified that the amount of the bribe was 35 thousand rubles.

The head of the Kazansky station did not admit his guilt. Previously, he claimed that the manager of a company that distributes magazines and newspapers on long-distance trains was involved in the incident.
