WADA recorded more than 150 positive samples for the athletes from different countries prohibited from January 1, 2016, including 29 Russians
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has established the permissible content of Meldonium in the doping papers of athletes. This is stated in the statement posted on the organization’s website.
Athletes, whose doping tests contain less than one Meldonia microgram per milliliter of blood, provided that the sample was made before March 1, 2016 will not be disqualified. In this case, it is allowed that the athlete did not take the drug intentionally after its ban.
The meldonia investigation will continue if the concentration of a substance in the athlete sample exceeds 15 micrograms, which indicates a recent use. Also, the affairs of those athletes who themselves admitted to the use of Meldonium after January 1 or there is another evidence will not close.
To date, WADA has recorded more than 150 positive samples for meldonium among athletes from one and a half dozen countries, including 29 Russians .
Many athletes claim that they finished reception of Meldonius long before January 1, when he was officially prohibited. The exact deadlines for breeding the drug from the body are still unknown.
