
On April 24, in the Shags club in the Center for Creative Industry "Factory" in Moscow, the organizational assembly of the independent three -part film festival "Artifact" will be held.
On the festival’s website, it is called the experimental platform, “where in the laboratory conditions the principles of film work are understood in order to consider and study the mechanics of cinema itself.”
“The“ artifact ”is focused on the viewer who perceives the cinema not as a way of fleeing reality in the illusion of screen time, but a person for whom the movie is equally and equivalent to the surrounding reality,” the organizers of the festival write.
Tasks of the festival: research and analysis of cinema as a form; the development of cinema as a discipline exploring itself, as opposed to cinema as entertainment; educational and educational functions; Formation of their circle of lovers of cinema. An adjacent task: to raise funds to reprint Lev Kuleshov’s textbook “Fundamentals of Films” of 1941.
The festival will be held in the Central Department Store "Factory" three times a year for three days, in each of which will be shown three films. Also, during these three days, three works of video art will be demonstrated. The entrance to all shows will be free.
The selection of films for the show at the Artifact festival will not be engaged in its organizers: "The formation of the program is based on the workshop principle of selection, we attract students of the cinema, who act as selectors, recommending us films for the program of the film festival."
