The Imam of the Salafi Eastern Mosque Khasavyurt, the chairman of the city council of Imamov Magomednabi Magomedov (Sildinsky), arrested last week in the fabricated case of calls for terrorism and extremism, said that the security forces subjected it to torture. This was written by the "New Gazeta" with reference to the statement of the Politzek, who was at the disposal of the editorial office.
Immediately after the arrest of Magomedov, he was transferred to the pre-trial detention center-1 in Makhachkala, and there he was beaten by the Fsinites. “Five pre -trial detention centers brought me to the room in handcuffs and began to beat me with their feet, hands and special equipment throughout my body,” the Imam said in a statement. “At the same time, they tried to make them kneel before them.”
The goal of beating was Magomedov’s confession. As previously reported in his blog by the chairman of the board of the Memorial human rights center, Alexander Cherkasov, the Politzek refused to testify against himself, referring to Article 51 of the Constitution. Why did the FSNIVS, and not the operatives of the FSB, who is investigating the case, the "new newspaper" does not explain to torture.
“I can neither stand nor sit, the whole body hurts, especially the kidneys,” the Imam statement said. He demanded to conduct a check against the FSINESS, as well as his medical examination. The room in which the torture took place was equipped with video cameras, the political zyta noted. The surnames of the offenders, he added, is not known to him, but he remembered them in the face.
Meanwhile, after beating, the New Gazeta continues, Magomedov was transported to the IVS of the neighboring Makhachkala Kaspiysk. This is a clear violation of the law: temporary detention centers are included in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and not the FSIN and are not intended for the premises there. The Imam's relatives are sure that in this way the security forces want to hide his whereabouts from lawyers and continue to put pressure on the political prisoner.
The case against the 44-year-old Magomedov Dagestan head of the FSB opened on March 29 . The reason was the performance of Imam on February 5 in his mosque with a hutbo (Friday sermon) “Muslim problems” and publishing a video of a sermon on the Internet.
The sermon was read at the service, called "Friday Brotherhood". This service, announced in advance, collected not only parishioners of the eastern mosque, but also members of other Salafi jamaats, whose representatives performed after Magomedov. The reason for the collection was the increase in pressure on the Salafis by the authorities.
On December 1, 2015, unknown people shot Suleiman Suleimanov (Kokreki) in Khasavyurt, an Imam of another Salafi mosque of the city - hospital. On January 29, 2016, the security forces closed the Salafi mosque in the village of Shamkhal, a suburbs of Makhachkala. Two days later, on January 31, the Khasavyurt authorities tried to close the Salafi Northern Mosque.
The closure of the northern mosque causeda large -scale protest . On February 1, the Salafites - both local and specially arrived from other cities and auls of Dagestan - made a peaceful procession from the eastern mosque to the Hasavyurt City Hall. The column of demonstrators totaled from 3 to 5 thousand people. Magomedov was one of the participants in the action. Under the pressure of protesters, officials returned the keys to her to Jamaat of the Northern Mosque.
In Khutbe, “Muslim Problems”, Magomedov announced the inadmissibility of the further pressure of the authorities on the Salafites, and also called on believers to be united and defend their rights with peaceful means.
Meanwhile, after success with the return of the Northern Mosque, believers Magomedov began to receive threats from both the armed underground and the security forces who promised him to "lose". For this reason, from February 5 to the detention of imam, he was almost hopelessly in his mosque.
Magomedov was seized on April 8, when he appeared in the police department (according to various sources, urban or district) in order to intercede for parishioners of the hospital mosque, who came to the security forces after Friday worship. Then the police illegally began to detain parishioners leaving the mosque. Having met resistance from the believers and passers -by entering them, they opened fire, not only into the air, but also under their feet. One of the passers -by, Sirazhudin Biyarslavov, was seriously injured.
In total, up to 10 people were detained; One of them was beaten. Magomedov, having come to the department, demanded to free the believers, but he himself was captured by the operatives of the CPE.
On the evening of April 8, information appeared that Magomedov was taken to the regional CPE to Makhachkala. The next day it became known that the theologian was charged under Part 1 of Article 205.2 (public calls for terrorism or its public justification), which provides for two to five years of the colony, and part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred or enmity), the sanction is up to four years.
On the same day, April 9, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala arrested Magomedov. At the hearing at the choice of a preventive measure, the lawyer of the theologian asked to reject the request of the FSB investigator on the arrest. He noted that young children and elderly parents are dependent on the detainee, and also said that the head of the village of Kirovaul Kizilyurt, where the imam lives, gave him a positive characteristic. However, the judge ignored the arguments of the defense.
“It is difficult to evaluate these actions differently as a conscious provocation aimed at destabilizing the situation in the republic,” said Cherkasov about the arrest of Imam. “Magomednabi Magomedov, the leader of the moderate Salafi community of Khasavyurt, consistently and publicly opposed the violence, against the departure of young Muslims into the forest or their departure to the Middle East. He really helped to keep people's lives.”
